MHS track teams tops at seven-way meet

The Middlesex High School boys and girls track teams each won the team competition in a Northumberland High School meet on Thursday, May 9.

Boys meet

The Chargers ran away with first place team competition scoring 166 points to Lancaster’s 115.5 points putting them second in the meet. Northumberland was third, 75; Essex, fourth, 46.5; Rappahannock, fifth, 35.5; Westmoreland, sixth, 33.5 and Carver Academy, seventh, 14 points.

Girls meet

The Lady Chargers also ran away with the team competition scoring 169.83 points. Rappahannock was second with 88.83 points; Northumberland, third, 55; Lancaster, fourth, 46.5; Rappahannock, fifth, 35.5; Westmoreland, sixth, 33.5 points and Carver Academy, seventh, 14 points.

The Chargers and Lady Chargers will compete in the Tidewater District meet today, Thursday, May 16, at Charles City High School. The meet starts at 2:30 p.m.
