Parsley’s Siteworks LLC of Saluda has started work on a $352,550 paved parking lot being built atop a grassy field adjacent to Middlesex Elementary School (MES) in Locust Hill.

Since MES opened in 2002, the grass parking area located between MES, the Middlesex County Sports Complex (MCSC) and St. Clare Walker Middle School (SCW) has provided auxiliary parking for MES, for the upper ballfields at MCSC and for other school functions.

The contract with Parsley’s Siteworks LLC calls for the job to be completed by Aug. 6 and is totally funded by the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund monies, which are part of the federal COVID-19 relief funds to schools.

At the March school board meeting, Middlesex County Public School Superintendent Dr. Tracy Seitz said that the contract calls for a completion date of Aug. 6 and should be finished ahead of the opening day of the 2024-2025 MES school year.
