Lawn bowling is a game like bocce, but it is so much more. Come to the croquet courts at 1680 Twiggs Ferry Road in Hartfield on Tuesdays and learn how to lawn bowl. The Chesapeake Bay Lawn Bowling Club plays year round at the Hartfield site on Tuesdays at 10 a.m., weather permitting. The club provides all needed equipment including balls (called bowls), mats, boundary markers and instructors for new players.
The only requirement: you must wear flat-soled shoes to protect the greens.
The game is for young and old. It promotes healthy outdoor exercise, social interaction and experiences, and is a fun way to learn something new.
