Percy Lockley Jr., 61, of Topping, died at the scene of a two-vehicle crash on April 29 on U.S. Route 17 near Glenns, according to Virginia State Police public information officer Matt Demlein.

According to police, at about 11:30 a.m. Lockley was driving a 2013 Hyundai Elantra north on Route 17 near Glenns Road (Route 198), when a 2008 Ford F-450 entered Route 17 from a private driveway. The blue Elantra struck the F-450, causing the Elantra to overturn. Lockley was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He died at the scene.

The driver of the F-450, Kevin D. Gramig, 58, of Dunedin, Fla., was not injured.

On May 2, Demlein said charges are pending against Gramig and the crash remains under investigation.

This was the first fatal crash in Gloucester County this year.
