The Middlesex High School (MHS) varsity softball team opened Tidewater District play with two shutout wins over West Point and Charles City last week.
Going into this week, the Lady Chargers (8-1, 2-0) faced some of their toughest opponents so far. Middlesex was at AA King William on Tuesday, and on Friday at 5 p.m. the Charger girls host Chincoteague, last year’s Region 1A runner up. Both teams have powerful pitching — so does Middlesex. Middlesex hosts King and Queen Central today, Thursday, April 18, at 5 p.m.
