There’s nothing like the steel drums and rhythms of island music played in those waterfront breezes! Catch it all at this “Pop-Up Sunday” series concert as “Barefoot Davis” comes to town 3-5 p.m. Sunday, June 16, all the way from Saint Thomas Island. So, throw on your island gear, grab your cooler and lawn chair, and come on down to the Deltaville Maritime Museum (DMM) and Holly Point Nature Park for a musical trip to the islands, with everything but the palm trees!
Gates open at 2 p.m. This is not a Groovin’ concert, so you need to get tickets at the DMM office or the day of at the door. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
In typical island style, Barefoot Davis (A.K.A. Davis Murray) is very laissez-faire; in his biography, and I quote verbatim: “I was born and I am still alive, did a lot of stuff in between.” You can check out Davis and his music on his website at www.barefootdavis.net or on Facebook. His 2014 CD “Barefoot Dreamin’ ” as well as his 3 other albums can be sampled on his website.
