The Rev. Eddie Heath, a long-serving leader among eastern Virginia Baptists, has accepted a call to become the 26th pastor of Urbanna Baptist Church, 121 Watling St., Urbanna.
Rev. Heath is also director of Missions for the Mid-Tidewater Baptist Association of Virginia, based in Saluda, and from 1996 to 2016 served as a field strategist for the Virginia Baptist Mission Board in Richmond. Prior to that he was pastor of Buckroe Baptist Church in Hampton for 13 years.
Rev. Heath is a native of North Carolina and received his education from Bluefield College, Carson Newman College, and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Kathy, have five children and 13 grandchildren, two of whom reside with them in the Yorktown area.
