CCS launches softball program; team wins first game vs. LHS

The Christchurch School (CCS) softball team — the first in school history — launched its inaugural season with a 14-6 road victory over Lancaster High School (LHS) on Wednesday, March 13.

Team captains are Bridget Wiseman ‘24 (daughter of Mark and Debbie Wiseman of Farnham), Teresa Espiritu ‘26 (daughter of Rahn and Annie Espiritu of Gloucester), and Channing Lewis ‘24 (daughter of Russ and Jill Lewis of Tappahannock).

Rob Thomas is the head coach. He is assisted by Glenn Harper.

The Seahorse girls compete in the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA) Division 2, which also includes Atlantic Shores Christian, Cape Henry Collegiate, Foxcroft, Fredericksburg Christian, Highland School, Isle of Wight Academy, Miller School of Albemarle, Nansemond-Suffolk, Norfolk Christian, Norfolk Collegiate, Peninsula Catholic, Seton, and Trinity Christian School.
