Harmony Grove Baptist Church’s Easter Extravaganza is set for 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, March 23. There is an egg hunt at noon. The free event features food, candy, fun, photos with the Easter bunny, prize drawings, a Hartfield Volunteer Fire Department truck and DJ Beaz’s “Turn Up Da Music.”

The church is at 7722 General Puller Highway (Route 33) in Harmony Village.

Urbanna United Methodist Church invites the community to attend a program titled “Three Nails and a Cross.” This program of music and drama, depicting the pain and agony that Jesus suffered on the cross for our sins, will be presented on Thursday, March 28, at 7 p.m.

Come celebrate the risen Lord on Easter Sunday, March 31, at 10:30 a.m. You are sure to enjoy an inspirational message from Pastor Mark Miller and music presented by the chancel choir and bell choir. Children attending will receive a special gift.

The church is located at 221 Marston Ave. in the town of Urbanna.


Clarksbury Church on General Puller Highway (Route 33) in Hardyville will have its spring food pantry distribution Saturday, March 23 from 9-11 a.m. Food recipients are asked to enter the church through the front doors, where they will be greeted. Some information will be asked of them to better serve their needs. Income information is not required. Organizers ask that only those in need come.

Information on Clarksbury Church will be available with opportunities for prayer. Assistance with loading the grocery bags will also be provided.

The Kingsmen Quartet is set to perform at Harmony Grove Baptist Church in Harmony Village on Thursdays, April 11 and 18. The exact time has not been released yet. The group is very popular and tours the East Coast. They have a ministry and want to preserve gospel music in the U.S. They sing in Pigeon Forge and Dollywood, and at local gospel festivals in Tennessee, Mississippi and Alabama. They had the number one song on gospel charts, “Unstoppable God.”

Lower United Methodist Church (LUMC) at 120 Lower Church Road, Hartfield, invites everyone to join them for worship this Sunday at 10:30 a.m. when they will celebrate Palm Sunday. There will be a special processional hymn, as well as departure under the palms.

All are welcome each Wednesday for a time of group prayer beginning at 5 p.m.

Zion Hill Baptist Church, 10256 Indian Road, Gloucester, will have in-person worship service on Sunday, March 24, at 11 a.m. Pastor Eugene Comithier II will preach and the Male Chorus will sing.

Make-A-Way and Deliverance Full Gospel Baptist Church located at 100 Flats Road in Urbanna invites you to their Rainbow of Colors and Fancy Hats service on Sunday, March 24, at 3 p.m. Attention all men, women, boys and girls —  you are invited to come out and wear your prettiest colors red, blue, purple, orange, yellow, green, etc. and fanciest hats as you enjoy an afternoon of singing and modeling of colors.

Grafton Baptist Church in Hartfield will observe Holy Week with a mid-week service on Wednesday, March 27, at 7 p.m. Bishop Carlton B. Johnson, pastor of Zion Branch Baptist Church, will deliver the message and will be accompanied by his choir and congregation. Join them as they commemorate the death and resurrection of the Savior, Jesus Christ.
