The Urbanna Town Council voted to purchase at a cost of $1.1 million the new town hall that it has been renting for two years. The building and 1.34 acres are located at 390 Old Virginia St., the former location of Urbanna Lumber on the west side of town.
The property owner, Thurston Properties LLC, has agreed to finance part of the purchase price with a note of $540,897 for 15 years at an interest rate of 5%, states the note.
