The Virginia Department of Historic Resources (DHR) is considering an application to name two Middlesex County-owned properties at Cooks Corner to the National Register of Historic Places — to become the St. Clare Walker School Historic District.

The nomination will be among several from across Virginia under consideration for listing and the public is encouraged to attend the hearing for adjacent landowners and interested parties on Thursday, March 21, starting at 9:30 a.m. in the Halsey Family Lecture Hall in the Virginia Museum of History and Culture located at 428 N. Arthur Ashe Blvd. in Richmond.

Anyone interested in providing a written comment on the proposed nomination should address it to State Historic Preservation Officer, Department of Historic Resources, 2801 Kensington Ave., Richmond, VA 23221. The written comments should be sent prior to the meeting date in order to be considered with the nomination.
