Grapplers “wrestle tough”

The Middlesex High School (MHS) Charger wrestling team went 1-2 in a tri-meet at Gloucester High School on Wednesday, Jan. 10, with a win over Kecoughtan and losses to Menchville and Gloucester.

The Chargers defeated the Kecoughtan Warriors, 48-18, and lost to Menchville Monarchs, 60-18, and to Gloucester Dukes, 60-18. “We had some missing wrestlers and had to make adjustments but the team wrestled tough,” said head MHS wrestling coach Joel Anderson.

The Chargers will compete in the Lafayette High School Ram Rumble on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 19 and 20. The Friday competition starts at 12:20 p.m. and Saturday’s competition starts at 7 a.m.
