Faye Pierce Haas, 80, of Mechanicsville, went to be with the Lord Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Mae Pierce and husband, Jim Gillespie.
Faye is survived by her husband, John Haas; three children, Charlie Payne (Jane), David Payne, and Lisa Mundy; four grandchildren, Austin (Ashley), Zachery, Jarrett, and Sydney; great-granddaughter, Taylen; sister, Cookie Fleet (Johnny); step-children, Todd Haas and Cheryl Johnson; a niece and two nephews; as well as her beloved dog, Holly.
She was a faithful member of Broadus Memorial Baptist Church for more than 50 years.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Road. The service, with a period of visitation an hour prior, is planned for 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18 at Broadus Memorial Baptist Church, 5351 Pole Green Road, Mechanicsville. The committal service will follow at 3 p.m. at Middlesex Memorial Cemetery in Urbanna. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Broadus Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund.
