Middlesex boys basketball defeats Mathews and Charles City

The Middlesex High School (MHS) Charger varsity basketball team (7-3, 4-1) won two Tidewater District games last week, defeating the Mathews High School Blue Devils, 79-49, on Wednesday, Jan. 3, and Charles City Panthers, 88-47, on Friday, Jan. 5.

This week, MHS was supposed to play West Point in a Tidewater District game on Tuesday, Jan. 9. The game was postponed due to weather. Middlesex will travel to Nandua on the Eastern Shore of Virginia on Friday, Jan. 12, to take on the Warriors. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. A 5 p.m. junior varsity game precedes the varsity matchup.
