Longtime school board members Claudia Soucek and Garland Harrow were honored Monday for their accumulative 26 years of service on the Middlesex County School Board.

Harrow has served on the board for 14 years and Soucek for 12. Both decided not to run for re-election in November. Thomas D. Kennedy will take Soucek’s Harmony Village District seat on the board and Tiffany A. Robins was elected to the Pinetop District seat to serve in Harrow’s position.

School Board Chairman Elliott Reed said, “It has been a pleasure to serve on this board with both of you. It has been a good run and the citizens of Middlesex have been very fortunate to have had both of you serve.”

Saluda District school board member Dr. Dana Burnett thanked both Harrow and Soucek for their “mentorship.” “I want to thank you both for your support and helping me along the way,” said Dr. Burnett.
