Strong lowerclassmen to likely boost MHS 2023-2024 mat team

The Middlesex High School (MHS) 2023-2024 wrestling team has four seniors on the squad this year, but MHS Coach Joel Anderson is hopeful that a strong group of lowerclassmen will boost his season.   

The Chargers have a 28-team roster with participants in every weight class but one. “We would like to see a few more people on the team to fill all the weight classes, but we are pleased that we have so many on the team that we are only down one weight class.”

Anderson has announced that this is going to be his final season as head coach of the Charger wrestling team. This is his 19th season as head coach. He came to Middlesex as a head coach of Durand Middle School in Durand, Mich.

Assistant Coach Jimmy Cox is working with Anderson this season. He is a former assistant coach at Midlothian High School. Longtime Assistant Coach Wayne Mount is returning also to work with the team…
