Christchurch School teams in state matchups

Christchurch School (CCS) Director of Athletics and Co-Curriculars John Dehm announced that both the CCS soccer and football teams are in contention for state titles. 

The soccer team advanced to the semifinals of the VISAA Division 2 playoffs after hosting and defeating No. 7-ranked Norfolk Collegiate 2-1 at Nunn Field in the state quarterfinals on Monday. The No. 2-ranked Seahorses will play the No. 3-ranked North Cross Raiders today, Thursday, Nov. 9, at 5:30 p.m. at City Stadium in Richmond. VISAA will charge $10 per person, with tickets available online at SeatGeek.com.

After hosting and defeating Covenant School of Charlottesville 65-34 in the semifinals of the VISFL Eight-Man Division 1 playoffs, the football team advances to the championship game against Virginia Episcopal School at Dinwiddie Sports Complex in Sutherland, at noon on Saturday, Nov. 11. Other schools in the VISFL Division 1 are Rappahannock County High School of “Little Washington,” Greenbrier Christian Academy, Chincoteague High School, Massanutten Military Academy and Quantico High School.
