A simple shoebox, filled with toys, school supplies, hats, gloves, socks, personal care items and a stuffed animal to love. Who knew so many items could be packed into one shoebox! It’s an easy way to fulfill Jesus’ command to “go and make disciples of all nations.”
Seventy-seven gift-filled boxes were packed by the children and adults of Saluda Baptist Church to be given out at festive outreach events where the Gospel is clearly presented.
Operation Christian Child not only blesses and brings joy to children around the world, but also teaches children and youth about giving. And the children of Saluda Baptist added the most important item: prayer.
Volunteers starting the shipping process are asked to stop every hour for a few minutes to pray for the children in more than 100 countries who will receive the boxes.
“Evening and morning, and at noon, I shall pray, and He shall hear my voice,” reads the Bible’s Psalm 55:17.
