The Toys for Tots drive in Middlesex County will again be sponsored by Middle Peninsula Detachment 1317 of the Marine Corps League this year.
Established in 1947, Toys for Tots is the U.S. Marine Corps premier nationwide community action program and America’s most popular children’s Christmastime charity. Its mission remains to bring the joy of Christmas to America’s less fortunate children.
All toys collected in Middlesex County stay in Middlesex. The gifts need to be new and unwrapped, no handmade toys or toy weapons.
The program began in early October and the final pickup is Dec. 17. Toys can be dropped off at Horn’s Ace Hardware, Christ Church Parish, all Dollar General store locations, Harmony Grove Baptist Church, Hurd’s True Value Hardware, Long & Foster Real Estate in White Stone, Lower United Methodist Church, Middlesex County Courthouse, M&M Building Supply, Middlesex High School, Middlesex Elementary School, St. Clare Walker Middle School, Middlesex Health Department, Middlesex Moose Lodge, Portside Grill, both Primis Bank locations, and Walgreen’s in Kilmarnock.
