Marine Run to Christ Church Parish honors late Lt. Gen. “Chesty” Puller

“Running to church” figuratively speaking usually signals to the listener that the speaker is tardy or will be for a church service. The Marines know how to add a twist to this expression — they are literally running to church, Christ Church Parish (Episcopal), in Christchurch, to be exact, on Friday morning, Oct. 20, to the final resting place of one of the Marine Corps’ most decorated and legendary Marines, Lieutenant General Lewis B. “Chesty” Puller.

The Christ Church Hospitality Committee will greet them with a warm welcome and offer snacks and beverages to the road-weary warriors before they depart…
