SCW girls basketball starts strong

The St. Clare Walker (SCW) Middle School Lady Seahawks basketball team is off to a 2-0 start to its season.

On Sept. 7, the Lady Seahawks defeated Montross 29-0 after building up a 13-0 lead by halftime. For SCW, Brooklyn Horace led the scoring with 13 points, eight steals, four rebounds, and an assist. Amya Kidd had 7 points, four steals, three rebounds; Melody Jones, 4 points, three steals; Grace Reza, 3 points, seven steals; Sophia Sandlin, 2 points, rebound; Allison Mendoza, five rebounds, two steals; Viktorija Gobush, five rebounds; Anaiya Billups, rebound; Ai’Jaloni Diggs, rebound; and Adrielle West, rebound.

SCW 45, Northumberland 13

On Sep. 11, the Lady Seahawks defeated Nor-thumberland Middle School 45-13. SCW started off well, outscoring Northumberland 14-3 in the first quarter. At the half it was 26-7. The Lady Seahawks, who also played well on defense, outscored Northumberland 19-6 in the second half.
