One Community Under God invites all local folks and visitors to join together for music, worship, praise and fellowship! They will gather at the Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department (the Urbanna firehouse) on Sunday, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m.
A choir consisting of members from several churches will be directed by Elder John E. Smith. Smith, a lifelong Virginian, is the founder and director of the Mathews-Gloucester-Middlesex Tri-County Choir. There will be congregational singing as well as music by the local praise and worship band, Jubal. The name Jubal is mentioned only once in the Bible, in Genesis 4:21. He is regarded as the “inventor of music.”
Prayers, scriptures and a message will be shared by several ministers. Requests for prayer will be accepted. Fellowship will follow as a light lunch will be served. Dress is casual.
