Lower United Methodist Church (LUMC) at 120 Lower Church Road in Hartfield invites everyone to worship with them at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. Guest speaker Susan Thomas will give the sermon.

All women of the church are invited to join the United Women in Faith, who will meet in LUMC Fellowship Hall on Tuesday at 11 a.m.

Everyone is welcome to join them each Wednesday for a time of group prayer beginning at 5 p.m.

The members of Make-A-Way and Deliverance Full Gospel Baptist Church and the Pastor Aide Committee will be honoring and celebrating Apostle Dr. Jesse Ransom and Dr. Prophet Edna Ransom during a 24th pastoral anniversary celebration set for 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, at 100 Flats Road in Urbanna.

The morning preacher will be Elder Alexander Parsons,  assistant pastor from Mount Nebo Baptist Church in West Point. The afternoon preacher will be Pastor Peyton Waller, pastor of New St. John’s Baptist Church in Kilmarnock.

“Please come out and enjoy a day of preaching as we celebrate our pastors all day long,” said a spokesman for the celebration.

Four adult groups meet to study the Bible book, Jeremiah, at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays through Zoar Baptist Church in Deltaville. Two adult groups meet on the shores of the Rappahannock River and Chesapeake Bay (bring your lawn chair) on Speck Avenue near Stingray Point. Two groups meet at Zoar Baptist Church, 17097 General Puller Highway, Deltaville.

Come to Saluda Baptist Church (SBC) on Sunday for coffee fellowship at 9:45 a.m., Bible study at 10 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m. with special music by SBC’s choir.

Located in Topping, Catholic Church of the Visitation’s prayer shawl ministry needs new knitters and crocheters! This loving ministry makes prayer shawls to demonstrate the physical support of the parish for those experiencing illness, grief or other difficulties, and for celebrating new life. Help can be provided for those wanting to learn and participate in this ministry.

Zoar Baptist Church (ZBC) in Deltaville Bible study classes are studying John from the New Testament on Sundays. Members invite you to try a class any Sunday at Zoar from 9 to 10 a.m. Zoar encourages participation in its Sunday morning studies at 9 a.m. and their weekly Women’s Study on Mondays at 11 a.m. and their weekly Men’s Study on Wednesdays at 9 a.m.

Members of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Rappahannock church will offer special drum circles 3-5 p.m. on the third Sunday of each month at Kilmarnock Town Centre Park. All are welcome — be sure to bring your percussion instruments. Drums will be provided to share.
