This Saturday “Stuck On A Name” will be on the waterfront stage to solve all our reggae/musical problems on Aug. 26 at the Deltaville Maritime Museum (DMM) and Holly Point Nature Park’s Groovin’ in the Park concert from 6-8 p.m. They’ll be playing under the pine  trees overlooking the waters of Mill Creek and you can hear that reggae backbeat. The opening band is  award-winning “Deau Eyes” with singer/songwriter Ali Thibodeau and keyboardist/sax player Charles Owens starting at 5 p.m. Gates open at 4 p.m.

Earlier in the day on Saturday, the DMM grounds will be filled with many colored tents as the Holly Point Market and its wide variety of vendors takes over the park from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. There will be produce, food, art, crafts, live music, boat tours, barbecue, breakfast sandwiches and so much more.

The museum opens early at 9 a.m. with donation only admission.

Working out of Urbanna, award-winning band Stuck On A Name is a reggae/ska band with a loyal following. They play originals, and cover classic favorites from these genres (and more), sometimes with a reggae/ska twist. Influences for the band are, among others, The Debonaires, Bob Marley and Sublime. Close your eyes and you’re in the islands, “Mon”!

Stuck On A Name includes Drew Luffey, guitar, lead vocals; Joe Gaskins, guitar, vocals; Jonny Brinkley, bass guitar; Joshua Wright, drums, vocals;  Chris Henley, saxophone, vocals; and Toby Gillie, trumpet.

Tickets may be purchased online or by calling the DMM office. Nauti Nell’s store in Deltaville also has tickets. Check the website. Unless there is a sellout you will be able to get tickets. You may still purchase online using your smart phone and showing your receipt at the gate.
