Middlesex High School (MHS) was one of two schools in Region 3 and 48 schools in the commonwealth to receive the highest Exemplar Performance Award in June from the Virginia Board of Education.

The Middlesex County School Board recognized the MHS team and Principal Susan Fleet at July’s regular monthly school board meeting. “We are extremely proud of the work that is being done at MHS,” said School Superintendent Dr. Tracy Seitz.

“This goes beyond teaching hard and exemplary. This has taken children staying after school and teachers going one on one to make sure they understand the studies. That’s what it takes to be successful,” said Dr. Seitz.

MHS Principal Fleet gave credit to teachers, staff and students for working hard to receive this honor. “I am just so proud of everyone involved in making this happen,” she said.
