The Middle Peninsula-Northern Neck regional chapter of the Virginia Aeronautical Historical Society (VAHS) is set to host the monthly luncheon presentation at 11:30 a.m. today, Thursday, June 15, at the Pilot House Inn Restaurant adjacent to Hummel Field airport on Grey’s Point Road in Topping.
The program will be a presentation on the City of Hampton’s Air Power Park, which recognizes Hampton’s role in America’s early space exploration and aircraft testing. Open year-round, seven days a week, sunrise to sunset, this free, 15-acre park features vintage aircraft, 1950s and 1960s space launch vehicles, jets, missiles, rockets and more.
The chapter continues to meet at the same time and place each third Thursday of each month for lunch and a presentation of informative aviation programs. Everyone interested in aviation is invited to join the society members.
