Urbanna is growing.
A voluntary boundary line adjustment that would add 22 acres to the Town of Urbanna was approved by the Middlesex County Board of Supervisors and the Urbanna Town Council last week. The actions followed a public hearing by each governing body. No citizens spoke at either hearing.
The boundary change now goes to the Middlesex Circuit Court for consideration, and possible approval, by a judge.
According to official documents, the parcels eyed for becoming part of the town include about two acres of fields, owned by the Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department, which is located behind the firehouse. Also included are about two acres owned by the town that include the water tower and the site for a new town well.
Also in the boundary adjustment are 9.5 acres owned by the F.L. Hall Family Limited Partnership on Waverly Drive.
Also included are parcels owned by Thurston Properties LLC and includes the area that houses the new town office.
