Middlesex track girls finish sixth in state

The Middlesex High School (MHS) Lady Charger track team tied for sixth place as a team with Grundy High School in the Virginia Class 1 state track meet Saturday at James Madison University in Harrisonburg.

Auburn High School won the meet with 70 points and the Region A girls track team champion Northampton High School from Virginia’s Eastern Shore finished second with 66.50 points.

Lady Charger’s Chelsey Holmes paced MHS with a first place finish in the long jump (17’ 5.5”). The second place finisher was Avery Maiden of Patrick Henry High School, who jumped 17’ 2.5”…
