Public can sound off on Town of Urbanna plan at June 8 hearing
A 5% increase in water rates is being proposed for Urbanna’s fiscal year 2023-2024 budget by the finance committee of the Urbanna Town Council.
The committee is also recommending no increase in the tax rates. Real estate tax rate remains at 21 cents per $100 of assessed value. Personal property tax rate remains at 37 cents per $100 of value.
A public hearing on the budget has been set for 7 p.m. Thursday, June 8, at the town hall, which is located at 380 Virginia St., Suite B. A copy of the budget is available by contacting the town hall at 804-758-2613.
