Middlesex Native Fights Breast Cancer

by Holly Oliver –

Hi, I’m Holly Oliver and I was raised right here in Middlesex County! I graduated Middlesex High School in 2014 but some of you may know me as the lifeguard at Bethpage, the cashier at Food Lion, the 2nd Runner Up Oyster Festival Queen, or the girl that drove the ambulance for Urbanna Rescue when it was still operating.

On June 10, 2022, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. During my journey, I was introduced to an organization that changed my life – Here For The Girls. Here For The Girls supports young women under the age of 51 who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. They are based in Williamsburg but have reach all throughout the US.

I have been chosen to be the October 2024 Calendar Ambassador in the 2024 Here For The Girls Calendar. It is not only a Calendar filled with women’s stories similar to mine, but also includes a Health Guide to help others recognize potential signs of breast cancer and give helpful tips.

Not only am I here to represent Here For The Girls, I am also representing my hometown. Part of the Calendar Ambassadors duties are spreading awareness, lending a helping hand, and fundraising for our cause.

If you are interested in supporting my fundraiser for Here For The Girls, please follow the link to donate online at https://www.classy.org/fundraiser/4407703, or mail a check to Here For The Girls, ATTN Holly, 1309 Jamestown Rd., Suite 204, Williamsburg Va 23185.
