Allure Art Center in White Stone will host a local artist event Memorial Day weekend featuring local artists, David and Zora Aiken. The couple has collaborated on a line of popular children’s books, all with Chesapeake Bay themes.
Working primarily in watercolor and acrylic now, Aiken uses direct strokes of color over color to bring a strong element of design to his art. His paintings are vivid impressions of the places and people he found traveling the water routes of the United States and the Bahamas.
David and Zora Aiken have lived on a sailboat, traveling the country, painting, and writing for more than 45 years. These works span his artistic career and travels.
Come meet the artists at Allure Art Center Saturday and Sunday, May 27 and 28, noon until 3 p.m.
Allure Art Center is located at 419 Rappahannock Drive in White Stone.
