Christchurch School to graduate 67 Saturday

Eight Seahorse grads from MC

Christchurch School’s (CCS) 102nd commencement is set for 9 a.m. this Saturday, May 27, on the CCS Main Lawn and Bell Tower Hill. Sixty-seven students will receive their Seahorse diplomas Saturday. Among the graduation ceremony’s highlights will be a special address by CCS Head of School William J. “Billy” Coyle. Coyle is completing his first year as CCS head of school and is the 17th head of school in CCS history.

This year’s valedictorian is Kevin Liu, son of Keqin Liu and Jiaqian Wang of Tianjin, China. Liu will attend the University of Richmond.

There will be a baccalaureate service at 4:30 p.m. this Friday, May 26, in CCS’s St. Peter’s Chapel, followed by an awards ceremony and senior banquet.

Graduates from Middlesex County include:

  • Sara Lynne Hale, daughter of Dean and Karen Hale of Wake. She is the granddaughter of Christchurch’s 13th head of school, the Rev. Bob Phipps and his wife, Barbee.
  • Isabel Haswell Kiland, daughter of Ing (CCS Class of 1992) and Kristin Kiland of Christchurch.
  • Sophie Grace Kissman, daughter of Rosabeth Kissman of Deltaville.
  • Casey Chancellor Moss, son of Matt and Melissa Moss of Hartfield.
  • Fiona Rose Shaw, daughter of Donna Armento of Deltaville.
  • Abigail Langdon Smiley, daughter of Will Smiley of Kilmarnock and Mollie Smiley of Urbanna.
  • Hali Sofia Bunnell Valadez, daughter of David and Gidget Valadez of Urbanna.
  • Natalie Paige Walden, daughter of Shawn and Kelly Walden of Hardyville.
