May 27 offers market, concert fun at Deltaville Maritime Museum

Deltaville Maritime Museum Director Bob LeBoeuf donated his time and materials to recently construct a platform for DMM’s model trains in the DMM children’s garden. Now the Rappahannock Railroaders are adding tracks and other details to the platform to get the display up and running for the May 27 DMM market. Although located in the children’s garden, the trains attract as many grownups as children. Check it out with your children and grandchildren on your next visit. (Contributed)

As Memorial Day approaches, the Deltaville Maritime Museum (DMM) and Holly Point Nature Park enters their 2023 events season and the park and gardens are in full bloom.

On Saturday, May 27, the Holly Point market is set for 9 a.m.-1 p.m., and the Groovin’ in the Park concert is set for 5-8 p.m. There is spacious and convenient parking for all events.

If you are a vendor and would like to participate in the Holly Point May Market or any of the fourth Saturday of the month markets during the season, call the DMM office or check out the online application on the DMM website at www.deltavillemuseum.com.

Entertainment lineup change

Unfortunately, due to a promise made with Kofi Baker, son of Cream drummer Ginger Baker, Bobby Messano will not be able to make it this year. He has already confirmed for 2024. To keep the blues flavor of this concert, I have booked an all blues band Blues in the Night for 6-8 p.m. May 27.
