Juneteenth 2023 will “celebrate freedom” on Saturday, June 10, with a parade and festival at Middlesex High School (MHS) in Saluda.
The family event is open to the public and will be educating, empowering and entertaining, organizers say. Exhibits and events include food and merchandise vendors, genealogy, wellness, music, story telling and “Tales of Freedom,” a mini music concert, a “kids corner” with bounce house and face painting and DJ 360. Also featured this year will be a car and motorcycle show and contest.
The parade will line up at MHS at 11 a.m and at noon will proceed to the Middlesex County Historic Courthouse, circle around it and go back to the high school. Participants should arrive early because the road will be closed to traffic before noon.
