In-person voting for the June 20 primary election begins Friday, May 5 and will continue through June 17. Of the 133 cities and counties in Virginia, 66 of them will be conducting a primary election for at least one office, according to a Virginia Department of Elections news release. Middlesex County will not have any party primaries in June, Middlesex Registrar Melissa Welch reported this week. Welch said however that Middlesex County voters can pick candidates for the following offices on the Nov. 7 general election ballot:
- Virginia Senate
- House of Delegates
- Board of Supervisors and School Board — Pinetop District, Jamaica District and Harmony Village District
- Constitutional officers
- Clerk of Court
- Commonwealth Attorney
- Commissioner of the Revenue
- Sheriff
- Treasurer
- Soil and Water Commission (two seats)
