Denby M. Thomas, 82, formerly of Middlesex County, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 7, 2023.
He was born, Sept. 2, 1940, in Locust Hill, the son of the late Garry M. and Virginia R. Thomas.
Mr. Thomas was a 1958 graduate of Middlesex High School.
He was the owner and operator of Thomas Heating and Air for many years. Upon retirement, and moving to Henrico, he drove a school bus for Henrico County School District.
Denby was a member of New Found Church of Christ and of the True Spirit Gospel Band. His true passion was his love of music for the past 60 years.
He is survived by his children, Robert L. Thomas, Eddie Jones and Debbie Blake; daughter-in-law, Jan Potter; grandchildren, Jessica, Ryan, Kari, Christine, Nathaniel, Meredith; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wives, Arvazine S. Thomas and Faye G. Thomas; a son, Denby Mason (Buddy) Thomas Jr. and his daughter, Kathy.
A celebration of life ceremony is planned for 3 p.m. April 23 at New Found Church of Christ, 14166 Gordon’s Lanes, Glen Allen. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel, Saluda, is assisting the family.
