Dana Sheffield Smith of Urbanna, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023.
He was at home with his brother John, sister-in-law, Eileen and his dedicated caregiver, Punky Brooks.
Dana was born in Petersburg, June 19,1951, where he attended Petersburg High School and Richard Bland Community College. He worked for several years in the field of communication at Fort Lee.
He was predeceased by his mother, Margaret Sheffield Smith Feil; his father, John Fletcher Smith, III; and his step-father, Delmar “Pete” Feil.
Dana was a connoisseur of the arts and was quite the artist himself!
He leaves his brother, John Fletcher Smith, IV (Eileen); nephews, John Fletcher Smith V (Shannon), Lee Powell Smith (Lauren), Talbott Sheffield Smith; step-brothers, Peter Feil (Doris) and Fred Feil (Martha); snd his wonderful caregiver, Punky Brooks.
A private service will be conducted at the family cemetery of Blandford Cemetery in Petersburg. Family and friends will join together for a celebration of Dana’s life in June 2023.
