MHS track boys finish first in five-team meet

Charger girls are runner-up

The Middlesex High School (MHS) boys and girls track and field teams took to Bristow-Boxley Field Friday at MHS as the Charger boys won the five-team meet by scoring 126 points and the Lady Chargers finished second as a team with 74 points.

In boys action, Lancaster finished second as a team with 88.66 points. West Point finished third (78), Mathews fourth (40.33) and King & Queen Central Royals Tigers fifth (11).

The Charger boys were paced by Nathan Campbell, Jayden Kidd and JaQuan Griffin, who were all double event winners and scored 60 points between those events.

Campbell won the 200 meters (23.83) and 400 meters (53.52), ran a leg of the winning Charger 4 by 800 meter relay and was high scorer for MHS with 20 points.

Girls track

Lancaster Lady Red Devils won the girls meet with 106.5 points; Middlesex, second (74); Mathews, third (56.50); West Point, fourth (48); and King & Queen Central, fifth, 11 points.

The Lady Chargers placed second in the 4 by 100 meters (58.42) as Chandler, Parker, Holmes and Kayla Wills each ran a leg of the event.
