It’s time for the 14th annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Deltaville Maritime Museum (DMM) and Holly Point Nature Park. Put on your favorite Easter bonnet, grab your Easter basket or bag, and bring the whole family out to the Maritime Park on Saturday, April 8, from 1-3 p.m. for all the hunt activities. The actual hunt itself starts promptly at 2 p.m., so be sure to get there early to take advantage of all the activities and enjoy the park.
Did I mention to bring a basket?
The festivities and attractions begin at 1 p.m. The “hunt,” starting promptly at 2 p.m., is divided into three age groups. Ages 3 and younger will scour the Children’s Garden, ages 4-6 will hunt in the tea house/waterfront park area, and ages 7-10 will hurt along the trails. The cut-off age for egg hunting is 10.
Volunteers are still welcome and will need to sign in at the front table. Student volunteers are asked to include their school name and grade.
“We will have hay wagon rides, the Easter Bunny, and a photographer,” said DMM spokesman Karen Minter. The new “head bunny” will also be organizing her engaging children’s games, crafts and a bunch of other fun activities next to the Children’s Garden.
If you would like to help hide the eggs, help with the children’s activities, or with set-up, just come on out at noon on April 8. If you have questions call the DMM office at 804-776-7200. This is a fun event and all are welcome to volunteer…
