It was another glorious weekend of lacrosse at the Rappahannock River as Christchurch School (CCS) celebrated the life and memory of beloved CCS administrator and coach Dan Nolan with the 30th annual Daniel T. Nolan Memorial Lacrosse Tournament.
In Friday’s action, the Seahorses defeated Perkiomen (Pennsburg, Pa.) 21-12, and St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes (Alexandria) defeated Kiski (Saltsburg) 9-7 to advance to the championship round on Saturday.
Perkiomen defeated Kiski in the consolation round. The Seahorses defeated fellow Episcopal Diocese Church School SSAS to win the tournament championship and the 2023 Rumble at the River.
The two teams were evenly matched throughout the game. With four seconds left, the teams were tied 9-9. CCS senior and team captain Grant Sobel (Mechanicsville) scored his second goal of the game with three seconds left, for the thrilling 10-9 victory…
Correction
