Charger wrestler places fifth in 215-pound class; Graulich, Hanscom and Powell also compete
The Middlesex High School (MHS) wrestling team brought home one medal from the Virginia State 1A wrestling championship in Salem on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 17 and 18, as Cameron Byers placed fifth in his weight class.
Byers won a fifth place medal in the 215-pound weight class after missing half of the Chargers wrestling season due to an injury. “I’m real proud of Cameron,” said Head Coach Joel Anderson. “There was some really tough competition at states this year but he did a great job having lost so much of his season to injury.”
Erick Graulich competed in the 165-pound weight class, RJ Powell in the 175-class and Bishop Hanscom in 120-pound weight division. “I’m real proud of all of them.”
