Allen Ceaser Lewis, 82, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023 in Columbus, Ga., at his home.
He was born on April 12, 1940 to the late Allen Lewis and Betty Williams in Virginia.
After attending St. Clare Walker High School, Allen joined the U.S. Army, serving 22 years as a tactical communications systems operator-mechanic. He went on to retire from General Service Administration (GSA) after serving 22 years of federal services.
Allen loved traveling back home to Virginia to see his family and loved ones. Family meant the world to him and he will truly be missed by all. Allen leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Benita Lewis of Columbus, Ga.; five daughters, Cindy Peatross (Larry), Sandra Pryor (Kenneth), Sondra Haytko, Tammy Burrell (Kendrick), Kimberly Gilliam (Desmond); a son whom he raised as his own, Christopher Watson (Trina); nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Walter Lewis, Billy Lewis and Earl Lewis (Mary Ann); and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral service was Feb. 6 at St. Mary’s United Methodist Church in Columbus, Ga. He was interred at Green Acres Cemetery in Columbus, Ga.
