Mary Ann Throckmorton Muse joyfully joined her family in her Heavenly Home on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023. She has been happily reunited with her beloved husband, Larry. They loved each other every day of their 61 years of marriage. Larry went to be with Jesus on April 21, 2011.
Together, Mary Ann and Larry ran their successful business, Lawrence R. Muse Jr. Plumbing and Heating, for 54 years. Mary Ann and Larry spent many years enjoying their home on the Rappahannock River.
They loved beautiful sunsets, cocktail parties with friends, and boat rides on the river. Their home on Kilmer’s Point was always filled with love and laughter.
Mary Ann was also preceded in death by her parents, Mary Alice (Moss) Throckmorton and Victor Sterling Throckmorton Sr.; and her two brothers, Roger Russell Throckmorton and Victor Sterling Throckmorton Jr.
She is survived by their three children, Dr. Marcia D. Muse (Joseph Cupurdija), L. David Muse (Maureen), Laurie Muse Shelby (Joseph); four grandchildren, Thomas Muse Wildberger, Marshall Muse Wildberger, Morgan Shelby Tassone, and Lauren Muse Shelby. They are all gifts from God.
As “Nana” to all her grandchildren, she was their biggest cheerleader and was always so very proud of them. She had many nieces and nephews and their love was so special to her. She kept them close to her heart.
Mary Ann’s family and her faith in God gave her daily strength. She loved her church family at Trinity Lutheran Church. The family extends special thanks to the staff at Heritage Green Memory Care, Mechanicsville, for their loving care of their mother.
Mary Ann will be interred with Larry at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
The family will be very appreciative of memorials made in her memory to Trinity Lutheran Church-2315 N. Parham Road, Richmond, VA 23229, where a celebration of her life and her call to Heaven is planned for 11 a.m. Feb. 18. This is a day to rejoice! We will all be together as our family comes “full-circle” in Heaven. Thanks be to God.
