After a pandemic-related hiatus, the Urbanna Business Association is bringing back to Urbanna its annual Polar Plunge and Chili Cook-Off.
On Saturday, Feb. 11, community members and visitors alike will have the chance to jump into the frigid waters of Urbanna Creek, then slosh through town to taste what organizers say will be some of the best chili this side of Texas. While you’re there, you can enjoy a beer garden, listen to music (provided by a local disc jockey) and browse the unique shops and restaurants Urbanna has to offer.
The Polar Plunge offers an opportunity to support several of Middlesex County-area charities. Proceeds from donations and pledges will go to the Boys and Girls Club of the Northern Neck, the Cryer Center in Harmony Village and Middlesex Habitat for Humanity. Registration begins at 10 a.m. and the costume judging is at 11 a.m. Prizes will be awarded for best team costume and best individual costume.
The plunge will have two awards, Best Team Costume and Best Individual Costume.
The Cook-Off will have two categories, Professional and Amateur with prizes being awarded…
