Malik Dandy paces Chargers in 82-48 victory over Mathews
The Middlesex High School (MHS) varsity basketball team (16-2, 10-0) clinched the Tidewater District regular season championship with an 82-48 win over the Mathews Blue Devils at home on Friday.
The Chargers were paced by sophomore Malik Dandy who scored 19 points mostly coming from put-backs in the paint and 12 of those points came in the first quarter. Dandy was named “Player of the game” on Maxprep’s basketball website.
The Chargers dominated the first half as MHS had a 49-23 lead at half-time as Dandy and Oakley put on an offensive clinic under the offensive and defensive boards.
During the second half, the Chargers went cold on offense but were never in danger of not winning the game…
