Urbanna’s park pavilion now 40% funded

The donation, which is in honor of the Bristows’ late parents, Charles and Betty Page Bristow, will go to support Taber Park’s proposed Bristow Community Pavilion. UBI aims to raise $92,000 to build the pavilion and in just two months has raised $39,200 or 40% of the goal. (Photo by Larry Chowning)

Taber Park site to honor the late Charles and Betty Page Bristow

Urbanna Beautification Inc. (UBI) has raised 40% of the amount needed to build the Bristow Community Pavilion at Taber Park in the Town of Urbanna in just a little more than two months.

The group started its fund drive in November 2022 and has raised $39,200 or 40% of the fundraising goal.

The Bristow Community Pavilion is being built on town park property in coordination with the Town of Urbanna to honor the legacy of Charles and Betty Page Bristow. Betty Page was a founding member of the UBI organization and worked with many organizations in Middlesex County, while taking care of her customers at her shop Cyndy’s Bynn in Urbanna.

Charles served the community as a founding member of the Urbanna Oyster Festival Foundation, a nonprofit organization formed in 1991 to maintain and oversee the Urbanna Oyster Festival.
