The struggles of the Middlesex High varsity girls basketball team continued on Tuesday, Jan. 3, with a 30-18 loss to visiting Mathews. The game was called with about six minutes left when Middlesex could not field a team due to injuries and two players fouling out, explained head coach Michael Lewis Sr.
The Lady Chargers had started the game with just six players. “They played hard,” said Lewis. “They didn’t give up.”
The Lady Chargers have one win this season, having defeated Chincoteague on Dec. 2, 2022.
The Lady Chargers did not play the scheduled game versus the Seahorse girls at Christchurch School on Saturdayæ
