The Urbanna Town Council is awaiting a total cost estimate from general contractor J.A. Heisler Contracting Company Inc., which will manage construction of a new community pool and bathhouse and concession stand, said new Urbanna Mayor Bill Goldsmith this week.
The actual pool will be built by Paddock Swimming Pool Company and a contract has been signed by the town. Another contract has been signed with the architect Jim Irby of Irby Architects to design the supporting structures, the bathhouse, pump room, decking and fencing.
Council approved the design and layout for Urbanna’s proposed new pool during its Dec. 15 meeting. Since that meeting, town officials have been working with Urbanna Beautification Inc. (UBI) to find a location for a proposed open pavilion.
The proposed location will be discussed when council meets on Thursday, Jan. 12, at 7 p.m., said Mayor Goldsmith.
