Richard “Rick” H. Faivre, 77, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2022.
He was a longtime resident of Middlesex County, but formerly of Richmond.
Rick was retired from VDOT, Saluda Residency-Fredericksburg District, and also worked several years at Hummel Field airport in Topping.
Rick was born on Aug. 10, 1945, in White Plains, N.Y. to the late Russell Louis and Mary Chester (Hudson) Faivre.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Carol (Faivre) Walz.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carolyn (Floyd) Faivre, of Topping; and a brother, Ronald Louis Faivre of New York. He also leaves behind one daughter, Dawn (Faivre) Deans (David); two grandsons, Timothy Allen Deans (Morgan) and Dylan Patrick Deans; three great-grandchildren, Jaxon Wayne Deans, Noah David Deans and Adelaide Grace Barker; a multitude of nieces and nephews; and a cherished and spoiled cat, Minnie.
Rick enjoyed gardening and supplied many friends and neighbors with vegetables every summer. He also enjoyed watching the wildlife, the squirrels and birds, many of which he had named.
No services were requested.
Faulkner Funeral Homes, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel, Saluda, is assisting the family.
