Over the past few years Christchurch School (CCS) has made a strategic effort to sustain and improve its 11-man football program. Unfortunately, the numbers have continued to decrease while incidence of injuries have continued to increase. Additionally, the total number of youth football players across the nation from 2008-2018 has decreased by 24%.
Over the past month, and with the preceding in mind, CCS researched similar-sized independent schools who currently offer eight-man football.
CCS officials know the possibility of this change is a big deal, and they want the Seahorse family to know that this, in fact, is a serious option they are looking at closely.
